Safestone Technologies Is Third Acquisition for Fortra In Past Year

Eden Prairie, MN -- Fortra, LLC, the leading independent provider of operations, security, and business intelligence software for IBM® Power Systems™ servers running IBM i, announced today its acquisition of Safestone Technologies, a system security software company based in the United Kingdom. Fortra is a portfolio company of growth equity investor Summit Partners.

Safestone Technologies’ experience in security, auditing, and compliance solutions complements the mission of The PowerTech Group, a subsidiary of Fortra. The addition of Safestone’s Compliance Center product brings PowerTech into the AIX and Linux marketplace, widening its security and compliance solutions across all IBM Power Systems.

PowerTech joined the Fortra family of companies in 2008, adding IBM i security to its extensive automated operations and business intelligence solutions.

Safestone Technologies represents the third acquisition for Fortra in the last year.
